Yokohama to set up a plant in India

In a bid to increase its passenger tyre market share from 2% to 5%, Yokohama’s Indian subsidiary is setting up a facility in Bahdurgarh Industrial Estate. To be operational by mid-2014, the facility will only produce passenger car tyres with an annual production capacity of 700,000 tyres in Phase I. The first phase is expected to cost the Japanese firm 4.4 billion yen to set up. (RJA)
