Yokohama presents new open-shoulder, regional drive tyre

Tokyo-based tyre-maker Yokohama Tire (Yokohama) has launched the 715R, a new regional drive tyre. It is currently manufactured at Yokohama’s West Point, Mississippi, plant in one size only, but three more are to be released in early 2020.

Yokohama’s 715R has a longer wear thanks to its deep 26/32-inch tread pattern and strategically-placed tie bars that control block movement. The Smart Way-verified tyre for low-rolling resistance also offers maximum traction from sturdy, open-shoulder blocks that minimises the retention of foreign objects. The 715R’s commendable fuel efficiency is ensured by Yokohama’s exclusive compound that is cut-/chip-resistant while its 16-ply construction provides a higher load capacity.

Tom Clauer, Yokohama’s Senior Manager of Commercial/OTR products, said: “The deep-tread, 715R is the answer for fleets looking to boost their bottom line by having tyres that provide long, even wear, an open-shoulder design and fuel efficiency,”

“The 715R also offers maximum traction and high retreadability, so it truly delivers the performance and value required.”
