UK’s Automobile Association (AA) is road testing a universal spare wheel/tire combo that fits almost any car on the road.
The tyre is a simple 17-inch five-lug works with a set of adaptors in 10 different sizes, which enables the tyre to be used in most vehicles.
According to AA, there are millions of cars in UK that lack a proper spare tyre on board, while in the US, one in seven new cars is delivered with a tyre inflation kit. Nevertheless, there has no announced plans yet that the US will also be road testing the universal tyre.
