Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. is introducing two steer tyres and an all-season drive tyre at the 2014 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Ky., March 27-29.

The company says the tyres feature its proprietary e-balance technology to deliver improved tyre life, endurance, and retreadability plus reduced rolling resistance and irregular wear.

Here is a description of the new tyres.

M177 Regional to Long-Haul Steer Tire.

The M177 is a U.S. EPA SmartWay verified, premium low rolling resistance steer tyre designed for use in regional to long-haul applications. Fuel efficiency, excellent durability and enhanced retreadability make it an important addition to any fleet.

Also suitable for use on a trailer position, the M177 is available in both G and H load ratings in the following sizes: 295/75R22.5, 285/75R24.5, 11R22.5 and 11R24.5.

M170 Regional Steer Tire.

The M170 is a regional steer tyre that is capable of being used in all wheel positions. It features a durable compound and increased tread volume as well as improved bead durability and improved wear. These features result in a longer tyre life and smoother drive. Current sizes are an 11R22.5 and a 12R22.5, both with an H load range.

M920 All-Season Drive Traction Tire.

The premium M920 drive traction tyre is designed for regional and long-haul applications. It features wide, staggered tread blocks for improved traction and performance while additional features assist in excellent wet performance, longer tyre life and reduced irregular wear. The M920 is currently available in a 245/70R19.5 and an 11R22.5, with plans to expand the line-up later this year.

“Toyo Tires is focused on delivering innovative new tyre products to the commercial trucking industry,” says Lowell Slimp, senior product manager, commercial truck tyres. “Both fleets and independent operators will benefit from our wide range of premium products that deliver extended tyre life and exceptional retreadability while minimizing fuel consumption.”
