JAPAN-headquartered Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. , a supplier Toyota Motor , is planning to expand its US production.
The move is said to be part of its plan to channel more investments on products that can give more profits, such as SUV tyres.
Likewise, it may increase its annual tyre output capacity in the US to 8.5 million by early 2015, the firm said.
North America accounts for 36% of the Toyo sales, which currently has the capacity to produce 6.5 million tyres a year.
