Tokai Rubber introduces speakers made of rubber

Japan-based company, Tokai Rubber Industries Ltd.revealed in the 2012 CEATEC Japan, the first ever speaker made of speaker called as “smart rubber.”

The speaker is made entirely of latex and what’s even better with it than other products with the word smart as a prefix is that it has a good bass.

The smart rubber was developed by Tokai rubber before but not as speakers. It was used for robots to give them a sense of touch and avoid crushing anything that it touches. This type of rubber is made of conductive and insulation rubber which reacts when current is passing through its layers.

The rubber is producing a sound by expansion and contraction brought to it by electricity.

According to experts the smart rubber speaker is great but its downside is that it can’t acquire a low frequency sound. (RJA)
