The Rubber Development Department says that the guaranteed price for rubber proposed through the recent budget, will be implemented with effect from the 15th of this month. Director General of the Department of Rubber Development R.B. Premadasa says that around 70,000 rubber small holders will be benefited through this measure.
He adds that a kilo of rubber was sold at 256 rupees at the auction. He adds that the 300 rupee arrear will be paid to the rubber small holders during this month. 200 million rupees have been set aside in this regard.
