SI Group unit in China nearing completion

US-headquartered SI GROUP shall have its second facility in China completed by May.

The chemical manufacturers’ new plant, based in the Nanjing Chemical Industry Park is expected to further reinforce the company’s commitment to the Asia Pacific region.

Meanwhile, the executive leadership team with President and CEO, Stephen Large, during their recent visit to China, have cited the company’s existing Songjiang plant for its streamlined logistics, increased manufacturing output and improved on-time delivery, as well as superior customer satisfaction.

Songjiang plant has been able to accommodate an outpour of demand from customers seeking reliable supply, service and product quality. Recently installed with a state-of-the-art waste water treatment facility, for which it has gotten the 2011 honorary title of Model Enterprise of Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection by the local government.

“Strong demand from our loyal and strong customer base in the rubber, abrasive, friction, impregnation and refractory markets has necessitated our growth in China,” said Emmanuel Hess, Vice President of Asia Pacific. “Our Songjiang plant is running at full capacity. We also import from our global manufacturing plants outside Asia, demonstrating our ability to serve customers from multiple production locations by utilising SI Group’s global footprint. This will be further enhanced in a few months once our Nanjing plant is up and running,” he said.
