Semperit Group expands conveyor belt plant in Poland

With the added capacity in Be?chatów, we will continue to expand our strong position, open up new markets and push our global expansion as planned”, Thomas Fahnemann, CEO of the Semperit Group, explains.

Moreover, Poland offers ideal production conditions for industrial enterprises, Fahnemann adds: “The employees are highly qualified, energy costs are competitive and we are very close to important markets and key customers.”

The conveyor belt market grows by roughly 3% annually, most markedly in Asia, Australia and South America. The market growth is determined by the megatrend mining and the increasing demand for energy and raw materials. In addition to mining, Sempertrans products are also used in the steel and cement industries, in power stations and in the transport industry.

Sempertrans Be?chatów is the largest production facility for conveyor belts in Europe and specialises in manufacturing heavy-duty steel cord and textile conveyor belts. The R&D centre located at the site continuously develops innovations, most recently an energy-saving conveyor belts. One hundred new jobs have been created as a result of the expansion. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, production will be even more efficient in the future.
