Global premium tyre company Nokian Tyres has begun the second stage of hiring for a second shift of production at its Dayton Factory in Tennessee, US. Nokian Tyres plans to hire approximately 400 employees to work in its mixing, tyre production, quality, maintenance and logistics areas, as well as general factory overhead at the Dayton factory, which is its first production facility in North America.
The hiring process is to begin in September; previous applicants also need to re-apply to indicate their willingness to work a night shift.
According to Nokian Tyres, all employees at the Dayton Factory are required to wear masks while inside, are screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms, and possible exposure to others.At the same time, employees will be exposed to some of the most advanced production machinery and processes in the tyre industry – Nokian Tyres seeks to build a positive culture for its employees alongside an environment that helps them develop professionally.
Blake Markham, Nokian Tyres HR operations manager, said, “We’re eager to welcome new employees to our team. In the second phase of hiring, our goal is to find hard-working team players who want to join our mission to build some of the safest, most sustainable products in the tyre industry.” The upcoming addition of a second shift is the latest milestone in a series of recent achievements at the factory. In April and May, respectively, the Dayton Factory earned ISO 9001 quality certification just six months after officially opening and celebrated one year without a lost-time injury.
