No-air mountain bike tyres on the way

Colorado-based tyre and rubber company, Britek Tyre and Rubber is developing a new set of tyres of mountain bikes to be called as Energy Return Wheel, tyres that have been originally developed for cars, but now is improving it to an airless, puncture-proof tyres for mountain bikes.

Gizmag said the new tyres do not need pumping, patch kit and spare tube because they do not need air and aside from that, the tyres are also fuel-efficient.

The tyres have rubber layers in the centre, elastic cushions in between each tyre and rubber treads in the exterior.

The mountain bike tyre lack give compared to the traditional ones, and give can be adjusted to suit the traction and terrain needs of the bikers. (RJA)
