Taiwan-based tyre manufacturing giant Maxxis Group will set up its plant near Sanand in Gujarat.
The announcement came after a high-level Maxxis Group delegation led by company president Wally Chen met Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and discussed the roadmap for the project, the Gujarat government said in a press release issued here today.
Patel welcomed Maxxis Group’s decision to start its first ever plant in India and assured full support from the Gujarat state government.
Chen thanked Patel for her support and informed her that construction of plant would begin very soon, the release said.
Patel told the delegation to ensure maximum employment opportunities to youth in the plant. During the meeting, she invited Chen to take part in the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit in January 2015.
