Kotagala to plant rubber in Cambodia

SRI Lankan plantation firm Kotagala Plantations will plant 20,000 ha of rubber in Cambodia. Valued at US$70 million, the project aims to address the inadequate local production and rising costs of rubber in Sri Lanka. The plantation will be managed by Lankem Tea & Rubber Plantations, which is part of the Lankem group. Kotagala has 12 tea and 11 rubber plantations in Sri Lanka as well as eight rubber manufacturing units, producing pale crepe and sole crepe. (PRA)
