Kerala to hold rubber products manufacturing conference

rubber-productsA two-day national conference aimed at offering updates on new developments in processing, product innovations, chemicals, and more will be organized by Rubber Board, India and the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).

The rubber products manufacturing conference will be held at the Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII) from July 28 to 29. Nalini Netto, Chief Secretary of the government of Kerala will inaugurate the conference.

The theme of the conference is Rubber Products Manufacturing: Synergising Competencies.

Opportunities and issues of new entrepreneurs in the rubber industry will be debated in the panel discussions. The experiences of rubber products manufacturers will be shared at the conference which will also discuss the impact of GST and ASEAN Agreement on rubber industry.

Stakeholders in the rubber sector such as tyre and non-tyre product manufacturers, latex processors, raw material suppliers and consumers of various rubber products can benefit from the conference.

Public sector undertakings including the defence sector, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Petroleum industries, Indian Railways, transport sector, agro-machinery industries etc. are also expected to participate in the conference. Senior officials of the industry departments of Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha will also address the delegates during various sessions in the meetings.

RRII conducts research in various aspects of natural rubber production, processing and product manufacturing. There are focused projects on developing energy efficient processes for filler incorporation, development of cost effective fillers, new devulcanisation process, et cetera, taken in collaboration with industries and the academia. The NABL accredited laboratory of RRII supports rubber industry by offering testing as per national and international standards and development of rubber products.

An agency operating under the government of Kerala, KSIDC promotes industry in the state by facilitating and financing large and medium scale industries and catalyses development of physical and social infrastructure required for industrial growth in the state.
