Japan to aid Myanmar’s raw rubber export

rubberJAPAN is looking at extending technical and financial assistance to advance Myanmar’s raw rubber materials being exported into the country.

According to Secretary of Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association (MRPPA), Khine Myint, the Japanese Government has noted that the kinds of raw rubber materials, except RSS-1, needed to comply to quality requirements.

The lack of advanced technology in Myanmar limits rubber producers to export only raw rubber.

Japanese entrepreneurs and representatives came to observe rubber farms in Myanmar and discussed how the materials could advance.

Currently, China, Singapore and Malaysia are the largest importers of Myanmar’s rubber, followed by Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, India and Thailand.
