India’s first “Tyre Park” to feature informer colonial state, West Bengal

A unique recycling concept will be realised in the form of a sprawling park in West Bengal, India, which will display art pieces made from waste tyres. West Bengal Transport Corp. (WBTC) Managing Director, Rajanvir Kapur said the Tyre Park “will be an island of peace in an otherwise very crowded area”; its date of launch will be announced shortly.

According to Kapur, waste tyres, discarded in various places such as bus depots around India, have been reworked and converted to colourful shapes by the in-house team of WBTC; the sturdy creations bear some similarity to flowerpots made from used tyres.

“No scrap material can be labelled as waste; it can be reused and converted into an art form. The WBTC will launch this Tyre Park soon,” said Kapur. Apart from its main feature, the Tyre Park would also have a small cafe where people can sit, relax and enjoy the craftsmanship made from tyres.
