Seoul-based Hankook Tire will partner with automaker Toyota to provide original equipment (OE) tyres for the latter’s upcoming 2020 Toyota Corolla, a bestseller in the US market. The agreement will see Hankook Tire’s Kinergy GT (H436), a premium all-season tyre, fitted onto the new vehicles from April 2019 onwards.
The Kinergy GT tyres perform suitably to wet, dry, and winter road conditions with excellent water evacuation, improved stiffness, and consistent grip. In addition, the tread block pitch sequence and vibration control technology reduces noise and/or vibration on road surfaces, thus ensuring a comfortable driving experience.
The tyre manufacturer has supplied OE tyres for the Corolla model since 2013. Now, tyres sized 205/55R16 91H H436 will be equipped to the upgraded Corolla sedan, which features a new dynamic design with improved agility, comfort, refinement and advanced standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 technology, such as pre-collision safety system. It also includes a new 2.0-litre Dynamic-Force engine for higher power and better fuel efficiency; and remote connectivity.

Hankook Tire has been supplying Kinergy GT tyres to another of Toyota’s American bestseller, the 2018 Camry, and the addition of the 2020 Corolla supply will bolster its US and Japan ventures, along with its strategic global expansion vision.
