Premium tyre manufacturer Hankook Tire (Hankook) will provide its all-season Kinergy GT tyres to the newly redesigned Ford Explorer for the 2020 year.
Hankook’s Kinergy GT tyres feature an optimised lateral groove and “chamfer sipe” arrangement, which provides exceptional grip in wet and snowy driving conditions. A core of high-grip silica compounds, a multi-layered carcass, along with jointless and supplemental reinforcement belts, all contribute to smooth and comfortable ride. When coupled with the SUV’s 3.0-litre V6 EcoBoost gas engine and 10-speed transmission, the Kinergy GT tyres’ low-rolling profile and tread design will complement and enhance the SUV’s fuel mileage rating.
Meanwhile, recent innovations to the Ford Explorer are set to magnify comfort both inside the cabin and out on the road. The all-new Ford Explorer has adaptable seating arrangements for up to seven passengers and an available cargo management system. It would provide ample space for any activity with its first- and second-row hip room. The 2020 Explorer also comes optioned with the drive mode system, controlled by a rotary dial on the centre console, which allows for easy shifting between normal, slippery, trail, deep snow/sand, sport, tow/haul and eco modes when paired with the Kinergy GT.
On continuing their relationship with Ford, Hankook’s OE Head, Hyunjun Cho, said: “The Kinergy GT provides drivers of the new 2020 Ford Explorer with outstanding performance in all weather conditions. We’re proud to continue to support Ford vehicles with quality tyres for their vehicles.”
The Korean company also supplies tyres to the Ford F-150 and the new Ford Ranger models, as a testament to its continued growth in the US.
