Coatings firm Barrier buys stake in Aquaseal

barrier groupBARRIER Group, an industrial coatings firm has bought 49% share in Aquaseal Rubber Ltd to assist the latter in business expansion and widening its market scope.

Aquaseal Rubber, a family business run by managing director Jason Armstrong and his father, Eddie Armstrong, manufactures rubber coatings, tubes for road cleaning equipment, and fenders for Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).

Barrier Group, established in 1975, started out with painting of structures to be installed as part of the growing North Sea oil industry, and has since completed more than 200 major contracts, mostly with other major global oil companies. Eventually expanding operations outside of the oil sector, it has embarked on providing passive fire protection, metal spraying, powder coating and sub-sea insulation for the aerospace, marine and offshore renewables energy sectors.
