BRB opens RM45 mn silicone synthesis plant in Malaysia

synthesis-plantBRB International BV, the Netherlands-based manufacturer and supplier of silicones, additives, chemicals, and lubricants to various international industries, has successfully finalised and opened its new BRB Silicone Synthesis SdnBhd in Malaysia on June 2. With the grand opening of the new silicone synthesis plant, BRB has expanded its Malaysian industrial footprint to further back integrate in dimethiconecopolyols, alkyl dimethicones and volatile dimethicones.

It is a multipurpose silicone synthesis plant and GMP production facility with a combined annual capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes. The plant is designed to manufacture vinyl silicone fluid, silicone polyether, low viscosity polydimethylsiloxane fluids, cross-linkers and chain extenders, gum blends, silicone emulsions and silicone antifoams. These products cater for personal & home care, coating & construction, and latex & rubber industries. BRB’s new plant is a RM45 million investment with a total land area of 4 acres (16,200 sq m). Construction began in May 2014 and was completed in the 2nd quarter of 2016.

The plant has been officiated by His Excellency Harry Molenaar, Dutch ambassador in Malaysia, Datuk N. RajendranNayaranasamy, Deputy CEO 2 for Malaysia Investment Development Authority(MIDA) and Datuk Baharuddin bin Moofficial opening BRB in MalaysiahdRafik, Director for Royal Malaysia Custom Department, Selangor State Branch.
