BMW X5, X7 to use Bridgestone’s upmarket tyres

Bridgestone is set to supply its premium tyres as original equipment for two BMW sports series, namely the fourth-generation BMW X5 and the new BMW X7 luxury sports activity vehicles. The vehicle models will be fitted with tyres from Bridgestone’s Alenza and Blizzak tyre lines engineered in Ohio, US, in an assortment of 15 different sizes.

From the Alenza line, select Alenza 001 tyres and the Alenza Sport A/S tyres will come equipped with Bridgestone’s patented run-flat tyre technology – the former delivers luxurious driving experience with precise handling in dry and wet conditions, while the latter provides trusted all-season performance and a comfortable ride.

For drivers who experience winter weather, the Blizzak LM001 winter tyres provide trusted performance and enhanced grip in ice, slush and severe snow conditions. These are available in 18″, 19″ and 20″ rim diameter sizes for the BWM X5 and in 20″ and 21″ sizes for the BMW X7. Bridgestone’s run-flat tyre technology is also available in the 19″, 20″ and 21″ category.

Shannon Quinn, President of Bridgestone Americas Consumer Original Equipment Tires explains that the design and application of a tyre plays an important role in ensuring a vehicle performs to its maximum capability: “We value our strong partnership with BMW and are proud of the collaboration during the development of innovative, performance-driven tyre technology for BMW’s sports activity vehicle line.”
