BKT inaugurates new European headquarters to serve OEMs

India’s Balkrishna Industries (BKT) recently opened its new headquarters in Seregno, Italy. The European market represents 50% of BKT’s annual revenue, which surpassed US$900 million globally in 2018.

The new headquarters houses BKT Space, a unique information and technology centre for highly specialised and sought-after OTR tyres. It is equipped with an auditorium and training facilities suitable for organising conferences, technical meetings and small events. BKT Space also includes an interactive tunnel, tyre room, game and VR space, a sports centre, and a lounge.BKT has effectively built an authentic Task Force Centre to address present and future needs.

Lucia Salmaso, CEO of BKT Europe has revealed that: “Creating BKT’s new headquarters has an underlying strategic meaning – to increase BKT’s presence and market share in Europe and to primarily get closer to our European OEM customers. BKT has already opened many doors with aftermarket references and will continue forging ahead with new opportunities; the new headquarters will ensure BKT is much stronger than ever in every area and every segment in Europe, including industrial agriculture and ATV, with the most complete ranges on the market and an increased production capacity.”

The new space spans 500 square metres, optimised for different areas of expertise: logistics, technical interventions, equipment management, marketing, and corporate management. The larger warehouse, to consolidate the decentralised zones previously located at other sites, is now built into the new structure refine the logistics flow.

Rajiv Poddar, joint managing director of BKT has added: “BKT’s very first aim is to understand the priorities and needs of our customers, which will be best done at this new, innovative and technological work environment that demonstrates capability and more – BKT is ready to reach the ‘Next Level.'”
